JCB Backhoe Loader 3CX steering column can be tilted to improve operator reach and comfort levels. This type of assembly is refered to as a ‘tilt column’. The illustration on the adjacent page is intended as a guide to removal and replacement.
Removal 1 Park the machine on firm level ground, engage the parking brake and set the transmission to neutral. Lower the loader arms to the ground. Switch OFF the engine, remove the starter key and disconnect the battery.
2 Remove the steering wheel as shown at A.
3 Remove socket screws B and take off the steering column pedestal cover. 4 Remove the control column switches C. 5 Remove the socket screw D securing the gas damper strut E. 6 Remove socket screws F and lift up the rubber protective cover behind the brake pedals to gain access to the flexible coupling. 7 Remove the coupling bolt G and shoulder bolts H. Then carefully withdraw the steering column assembly (with the gas damper strut attached) from the flexible coupling J.
Replacement Replacement is the reverse of the removal sequence. Apply JCB Threadlocker and Sealer to threads of nuts T. Note: The coupling bolt G must engage with the cut-out in the shaft. After re-fitting check that the steering tilt functions correctly,and that the direction indicators and lights operate correctly. Dismantling and Assembly The illustration on the adjacent page is intended as a guide to dismantling and assembly. Dismantling 1 Using a screwdriver in the slot, carefully prise out the dust seal L from the outer column tube. 2 Remove external circlip M, washer N, tolerance ring P and withdraw the steering shaft from the outer column tube and pivot bracket. Note: The top and bottom bearings R and S housed in the outer column tube are non serviceable parts. They may be removed for cleaning and inspection, but if the bearing(s) have failed a new outer column tube and pivot bracket assembly must be used. Note: The gas damper strut E is a non serviceable part. If the damper is faulty it must be replaced with a new one.
Assembly Assembly is the reverse of the dismantling sequence.

First of all, aPiwis II and a Piwis III do the same things, only the three can do newer cars, 2018 and on, where as the two is limited to the 2017 and earlier models. The III is easier to use but is more technically challenging to clone since it seeks a signal from Porsche to authorize the VCI (the thing you plug into the car’s diagnostic port) The Chinese who sell the clones, created their own server to clone and send out those signals, then modified the VCI firmware to look for the Chinese signal instead of the Porsche signal.
My background, I do not work for Porsche or have I ever used a dealer unit. What I learned, I learned from playing with the units. I had purchased a flooded 2013 Panamera, and I wound up changing ever module in the car except two. I purchased new and used modules, and used the PIWIS 2, then the three to code those modules to my VIN. As many people noted here, there are plenty of other devices that you can purchase to reset your service interval, change your battery or set the parking brake to the service position. What those devices can’t do that the PIWIS can do is code modules to your car, change the way those modules operate, run some diagnostic tests and see the output and input of almost every sensor and button in the car.
You purchased your tester, now what.
Some terms. VAL Vehicle Analysis LOG. When your tester first connects to the car, it reads the state of all modules and records all the faults in a log. This log is then tagged by you either as before repair, during repair or after. These logs serve as proof for Porsche that the dealer performed work for service payment. They don’t serve a lot of value for individuals, other than document all your errors for offline. I found them somewhat useful as a milestone as my car had over 150 faults when I began and I could see my progress looking through vals as I did repairs. VALS want to be uploaded so they look to Porsche servers to upload but since yours doesn’t have a PNN account, it can’t connect.
Programming or Coding. Porsche uses both but really doesn’t seem to distinguish between them. You cannot update the firmware of the modules, you simple program it to your car. You can add or change the VIN in the modules. For modules to work in yor car, they must have the VIN programmed in them. Buying a new module from Porsche and sticking it in, won’t work because the module needs a VIN programmed in it to talk to the other modules in the car. Beyond that, you need to program the module to your options. For example, the rear door module on a panamera uses the same module for the right and the left doors. If you place a new module in the right door, the window operates in reverse. Programming it, tells the module, it is located in a right door and reverses the up/down. . There is auto and manual programming, more on that in a another post.
Initial set up and overview When you first connect to your car, you must have the car on, but not running. Connect the VCI to the car and the laptop, turn on the car then start the diagnostic program on the laptop. The PIWIS III will auto determine the model of the car, the PIWIS II requires you to select the model when starting the diagnostic program. I will add pictures at times when asked. Keep in mind I sold my PIWIS II, so I can only add pictures of the three. if you are not connected to a car, both versions of the PIWIS will offer simulation mode which is a good way to get familiar with the unit without messing up your car.
When you first enter the diagnostic mode, you are shown a list of all modules in your car. In engineering mode, all modules are shown, even those not in your car so make sure you are in Production mode. If everything is in English you are in production mode. If the module names are in German, you are in engineering mode. Note there is a language selection prior to entering the diagnostic program for those who seek other languages. You are on the overview tab and there are other tabs, but on the module listing page, you do not want to enter any of those other tabs, They are used when looking at one module. The first thing I recommend people do is hit the button marked add. menu at the bottom.(F7) From here you can run read all fault memories. Run that and don’t run the other options as many require a connection and a Porsche account. Don’t get too concerned with your faults, many show up simply from a low voltage situation. Try erasing them all first. If they all disappear, that’s good, any that stay on will require investigation. Please note that some will disappear because the module is not active. If you run the car and then note the same faults reoccur, you should investigate them.
Once you have cleared all the faults, you should go back to the overview screen which shows all the modules and select any module you want to investigate then hit next. That will take you to that specific module where you can now use the other tabs across the top to show the module information, read any inputs or outputs and do any repairs that may be listed. To keep this initial post short, I will post specific how to’s in separate posts. I hope others will do the same.
Finally, there are certain modules that you cannot replace. These modules hold the key code information and must be programed by the dealer. They are the engine module, the Front and rear Body control modules, the Steering ELV module (few people have this module) I read somewhere that the airbag module is also on this list. I cannot confirm this as that is one of the only modules that is original in my car and still worked. While you cannot replace them, you can certainly do repairs, or change options in some of them. You can use them to diagnose problems, you just can’t replace them entirely.

This article is about how to perform 4th generation Mercedes Benz gearbox clone with Launch X431 Pad V/Pad VII Plus X-Prog3 GIII (update software to immobilizer programmer V10.06).
Here we go for the operation guide:
1.Select the Anti-theft programmer software, click [OK] -> [OK] to enter.
2.Connect the Immobilizer programmer as shown in Figure 1, and select 【Gearbox】-> 【Benz】-> 【VGS-NAG3】
3.The current Read/Write data volume is large. To improve communication stability, please use the USB for connection.
4.Click “OK”, please perform the [Connect] function first.
5.Select 【View Wiring Diagram】, disassemble the original gearbox and connect the Immobilizer programmer with harness.
6.Before performing operations of other functions, please first perform the [Connect] function to verify whether the gearbox is connected to the programmer. 7.Click [OK] and then click [Backup complete data] as shown in Figure 8 and 9, to backup and save the internal data of original gearbox. 8.Click 【Disconnect】to disconnect the original gearbox and the Immobilizer programmer.
9.Perform step 5 and step 6 again to connect the external gearbox with the Immobilizer programmer; 10.Click [Restore complete data], select the data backed up in step 7; click “Yes” to write the data of original gearbox to the external gearbox.

Porsche PIWIS II Universal Image Installation:
If you are restoring the PIWIS image to a laptop,use software like RUFUS to make the restore program ISO file to a bootable USB thumb drive.
If you are restoring to a virtual machine,simply mount the iso on the virtual machine.
If the screen gets stuck at this command prompt,simply close the prompt
Click restore and then click the path button.Select the backup file(adi.file) and click on next.
The program detects the selected backup is a system image,would you like to do a system restore?
Click “Yes”
Make sure this box is checked
Select the drive into which you want to restore the image and click next
Make sure that the “enable universal restore” box is checked,so that the system can boot on your laptop.

Restore Porsche PIWIS II Universal Image to VM: 1.Create two virtual hard drives – lets say – VHD-A and VHD-B;VHD-A will be the main VHD of your VM into which you are restoring the image. VHD-B is just a temporary VHD to hold the image file for restore 2. Copy the image file (.adi file) into VHD-B 3. Attach both VHD-A and VHD-B to the VM 4. In the VMs CD drive, mount the recovery disc iso 5. Start the VM and boot into the recovery CD 6. Follow the instructions given in the archive to restore the image 7. After image finish restoring, turn off the VM and detach VHD-B and unmount the recovery disc iso from the VM 8. Start the VM – after it finish initializing, install guest additions. 9. Done – you can delete VHD-B from your system
Theoretically this image should be able to restore and boot into any laptop which supports Windows XP (hopefully no BSOD on booting). Also you can restore it to a Virtual Machine
My aim with this image was to create an PIWIS image that anyone can restore and use without any difficulty. This image might be more suited to someone restoring it to a laptop other than a Panasonic CF-30 as I have removed all the Panasonic drivers. You can restore it to a CF-30, just need to reinstall / restore all the drivers
Easiest method to re-install drivers – In the laptop you are planning to restore the image -> If you are already running Win XP in that laptop, use software called “Double Driver” to backup all the drivers. After restoring the PIWIS image, restore the drivers – hardly take 5-10 min for complete driver restore and it’s all one-click operation.

BMW shuts down the ignition after a while so how can we prevent the car to shut down the ignition if you are programming ?

I always program all ecus only with ENET cable– car never died and all work always done. Even with Icom you can brick car it you don’t know what are you doing. Why you write that it will be slow? Its same channels of communication like in ICOM. Ignition won’t turn off when programming.
I don’t know speed of this two- for me programming nbt evo with 35 minutes is fine with enet. Try to flash some difficult nbt or kombi with icom- always problem and enet helps me a lot with it. Have 2 original Icom- both faulty and repaired in BMW. There was few threads about killing a car with Icom and programming in Ista- so it is possible. Enet is not bad for work with F and G series but if you want only click start button in Ista and wait for finish- Icom is for you. With Enet you can do same job.

ISTA will also take care of ignition. It will also write to you first what to do. For F10 that is – do no open/close driver’s door during operation.

I owned few BMW E, F and G series. I never use ISTA-D with eNet cable to program F or G series. Always used BMW ICOM or ICOM Next for BMW to program with ISTA-D over my home network, and never have any problem. I bought the iCom Next A 81 31 2 360 883. Buy the iCom Next for your F series cars. Here the steps I prepared before I connect the iCom on my F or G series. 1. Latch the driver seat belt. 2. Latch the drive door latch for coupe and sedan. 3. Turn ON ignition. 4. Connect the iCom. 5. Run ISTA-D

Most of the time, when you updating the whole car, it does do everything and you don’t have to put your fingers in esys, but there are also situations where ISTA fail with programming one of the modules (sometimes more) and refuse to reprogram until you replace it. It’s good, if it’s stuck in programming mode, but still response. Then you need to try to reprogram with esys. If you want to start with programming, then in my opinion, you should definitely be familiar with esys and its functionality.

Just use e-Sys and ENET – that’s what I’ve always used for my F10. As long as you have power, have no retrofits/donor parts and watch out for mismatching HWEL/HWEPs it’s pretty safe and straightforward. Sometimes you may have to run ABLs from ISTA, but not for KAFAS. Anyway, there are almost no updates now for the F10 and you’re already at a pretty recent ilevel.
If you really want to use ISTA then buy an ICOM. I’m in the same situation – personal use, so can’t justify the cost.

But you have to know the risked, we damage the pt3g and have to repair the board, we have to manufacture a plastice to fix the bold GL128 back on place right place you have only 1 chance.

The last solution is the easy. You just buy a xvc after the xvci is working on your system you change all know xvci data to vas 6154. and you are done.
